Are there room blocks?

Unfortunately, due to Highlands being a common tourism spot, the local hotels do not offer discounted hotel blocks. However, there are some rooms at 200 Main + Old Edwards Inn that are blocked off for the Carter/ Jervis Wedding weekend. While the rates are not discounted, these rooms are reserved for guests of the wedding. Please call these respective hotels about availability.

Will there be transportation provided?

There will be transportation provided on Saturday evening to and from the venue, departing from Downtown Highlands, starting around 4:30 PM. The transportation will depart from Old Edwards Inn at 445 Main St, Highlands, NC 28741. Please note there will not be transportation provided for the Thursday or Friday evening events. Please see below questions/answers regarding parking for all three evenings.

How do I RSVP?

Please go to our RSVP tab and put input either yours or your plus one's name. (Make sure to put Mr./ Ms. / Mrs. before your name.) If you still are having issues with finding your name on the invitation list, please send an email to jerviscarterwedding@gmail.com!

What is the itinerary for each event, and will they be indoor or outdoor?

Thursday Evening (Welcome Event): Thursday evening will be a very casual, come-as-you-are event at a private house. Anyone who is in town early and would like to stop by is welcome, and we would love to see you! We will have pizza catered in, as well as some light snacks + drinks. This event will be indoor/ outdoor (most of outdoor is covered). Event will be casual/ drop-in.


Friday Evening (Rehearsal Dinner and Post-Toast): Rehearsal dinner is an invite-only event. After the rehearsal dinner, there will be a Post-Toast for all at the same venue (Spring House at Old Edwards Inn). Please feel free to drop in if you are in town early for live music and drinks! Event is from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The event is indoor/outdoor, but has a covered roof. Event will be semi-formal/ drop-in.


Saturday Afternoon/Evening (Wedding Ceremony and Reception): This event will be black-tie optional/ formal. The wedding ceremony and reception will all be on the same grounds, but in varying settings. Walking distances will be minimal. The ceremony and reception will be indoors, and cocktail hour will be outdoors (if weather permits).

What is the parking situation for the events?

Thursday Evening: This event will be at the house, which does have a circle driveway with ample parking space! Please note that the drive up to the house is windy and steep, so please be extremely cautious and slow driving.


Friday Evening: The event is in Downtown Highlands, so if you are staying in the area, we highly recommend walking (if weather permits!) If you would like to drive, there are spots throughout Main Street in Highlands, as well as on the side streets.


Saturday Evening: If you would like to drive and not take the transportation, you are welcome to! There are around 75 spots available for wedding guests at the Farm, and there are signs to direct you to Guest/ Visitor parking.

What is the attire?

Thursday Evening (Casual): Come as you are! Feel free to wear whatever you would like if you are in town early and have time to stop by!


Friday Evening (Semiformal): The Rehearsal Dinner/Post-Toast will be cocktail attire. Ties are completely optional.


Saturday Evening (Black Tie Optional): Floor-length or midi dresses are perfect for women. Men can wear a tuxedo if they’d like, but a dark suit and tie is also appropriate.

Are plus ones allowed?

Plus ones are only allowed if your invitation indicates an additional guest.
